What's Included in Your ADHD Evaluation?

Your ADHD evaluation at Clarivolve includes everything needed to arrive at a confident diagnosis and a clear treatment plan.

  • 60-Minute Psychiatric Intake — A thorough clinical interview covering your symptoms, history, and how attention difficulties show up in your life.

  • QbTest Computerized Assessment — An FDA-cleared objective test that measures attention, impulsivity, and activity levels. Provides data that subjective self-report alone can't.

  • Clinical Review of Results — I personally review your QbTest results in context with your interview and history.

  • Written Summary — A clear, written summary of findings you can keep and share with your primary care provider, employer (if needed), or school.

  • Results & Treatment Planning Appointment — A dedicated follow-up to review findings together and build your treatment plan.

Why Objective Testing Matters

Self-report questionnaires alone have limits. People with ADHD often under-report their symptoms (because they've normalized them) or over-report (because they're reading descriptions that sound like everyone). The QbTest removes that subjectivity — it measures how your attention actually performs, in real time, against normative data.

Objective testing is especially valuable if:

  • You've been told it's "just anxiety" but treatment hasn't helped

  • You want documentation for workplace accommodations

  • You're a student seeking academic accommodations

  • You simply want to know for certain before starting medication

Who This Is For?

This evaluation is appropriate if you:

  • Are 18 or older

  • Have struggled with attention, focus, or follow-through for most of your life

  • Want a thorough answer rather than a 15-minute telehealth diagnosis

  • Are open to medication as part of treatment if clinically indicated

This evaluation is not the right fit if you:

  • Are primarily seeking a fast path to a stimulant prescription

  • Prefer a quick online-only diagnostic with no clinical interview

  • Are currently under 18 (I work with adults only)

How It Works

  1. Request Your Evaluation Submit the consultation form. I'll reach out within one business day to confirm fit and schedule.

  2. Complete the Assessment The QbTest takes about 30 minutes and can be done in my Redlands office or from your home (you'll need a laptop with a built-in camera and a quiet space). Your intake interview is scheduled separately as a 60-minute appointment.

  3. Review Results Together Within 3-5 business days of completing both components, we'll meet again to go over your findings, discuss the diagnosis, and build your treatment plan.

A note on insurance: Comprehensive ADHD evaluations are offered as a cash-pay service because insurance typically doesn't cover computerized testing components. However, the intake and follow-up visits can be billed to insurance separately if you prefer — I'll walk you through options on your consult call. I'm in-network with Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and Anthem Blue Cross.

FAQ:

Do I need a diagnosis to start medication? Yes. Medication management requires a proper clinical diagnosis, which is why this evaluation exists as a standalone service — to give you a defensible, well-documented answer before any prescribing begins.

What if the evaluation shows I don't have ADHD? That's valuable information. Many people who suspect ADHD actually have anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, or a combination — all of which are treatable. If ADHD isn't the right diagnosis, we'll talk about what is and next steps.

Can this be done entirely virtually? Yes. The QbTest works remotely on any laptop with a built-in camera, and the interview and results appointments can be telehealth.

How soon can I be seen? Most new patients are scheduled within one to two weeks of their initial consult call.

Is this the same as a neuropsychological evaluation? No. A full neuropsych evaluation typically costs $2,000-$4,000, takes 6-10 hours, and tests many cognitive domains. My ADHD evaluation is focused specifically on diagnosing ADHD and is appropriate for most adults. If you need broader neuropsych testing, I can refer you.
